Deck Repair – South Portland, Maine

This heavily damaged deck has been comprehensively rebuilt. The scope of work included:

The sliding door and the siding was taken apart to reach rotted areas. Rotted parts were removed, and an ice and water shield was placed on the wall and under the new sliding door. Typar was added, going under the existing Typar and over the new deck flashing, to cover the ice and water shield. A pan was put under the sliding door to redirect water.

A ledger was secured to the house using structural GRK screws, and copper flashing placed over the deck ledger following the installation of the new decking. New cedar clapboard siding was installed where the existing siding was removed. New Trex composite decking with hidden fasteners was also installed.

Additionally, new stairs were constructed, existing hand railings rebuilt, and new lattice work added. Finally, the previous door was replaced with a new one. Ready for painting.
